Parma offers various standard louver shapes of extruded aluminum.

Individual material and shape requirements are optional.

The louvers shapes establish the system’s appearance, strength and maximum dimensions. The Tilt & Stack™ system, using Parma’s 210mm width louvers, can fit openings with a total height of 3200mm. Each louver design has individual characteristics that affect the maximum span that can be covered (see wind load table below).

1. Eagle

The original Parma aerodynamic louver, designed to fit a span of up to 2.5 meters.

2. Vista

3. Lenta

With better toughness to weight ratio, Lenta is suitable for larger openings, with spans of up to 3 meters.

4. Magna

The 315mm width of the Magna louver enables extending the system’s maximum dimensions to a width of 4 meters and height of almost 5 meters.

5. Wood

The classic and ever fashionable look and feel of Wood, made from top quality Teak, can span up to 1.5 meters.



A better estimation of the system’s maximum dimensions should take into account the characteristics of the preferred louver, as well as the expected wind loads and other elements of the client’s home environment.

Setting Parma Tilt & Stack™ louvers to a desired position is done with a click of a button. There are three preset buttons that allow for setting the louvers standard positions – fully closed, fully stacked, or tilted open.

In addition, there are four programmable buttons, giving the option of saving your favorite positions to the system’s memory. This provides for a total of seven preset louver positions.

Manual control systems are also available.

Control panel settings:

Customers may choose to install individual wall mounted control panels for each shutter, or a master control panel for operation of multiple shutters in a room or area.

A remote control unit is available upon request.

A central, master home unit, commonly mounted at the home’s entrance, is also available. This provides a variety of add-on features, such as:

  • simultaneous control of all Parma louvers in the house
  • Interface with exterior weather sensors – rain, wind, etc.
  • Cellular or web based communication, for operating from far.
  • Timer

The Parma Tilt & Stack™ control system monitors the motor’s current consumption and will stop and retract the louvers upon a sudden increase in current consumption, which might be caused by collisions, or obstructions.

The whole Tilt & Stack™ system – frame, lateral guides, head rail, etc – is made from Aluminum and stainless still, and is corrosion resistant and maintenance free. They will retain their original appearance.

To clean Parma louver elements use a soft cloth with clean, cold water, and a gentle, neutral and non-abrasive cleaning agent. Preservation products should be avoided. Solvents such as alcohol, petroleum based products or acetone, products containing alkali such as ammonia or sodium and abrasives (e.g. steel, wool, sandpaper or scrubbing sponges) must not be used.

Unlike Roller shutters and other similar concepts, the Parma Tilt & Stack™ requires no special structural preparations of the wall.

The system consists of:

1. Louvers

2. Hidden frame profiles

3. Two guide rails, containing the Tilt & Stack™ mechanism.

4. Upper cover profile, to protect the motors, DC power supplier and electronics.

Once the hidden frame is leveled and firmly connected to the walls, the system’s other modules are easily attached to it. System installation is done in a matter of minutes.

Using linear actuators for tilting requires some small niches in the wall on both sides of the louver.

Architects who wish to hide the frame profiles should prepare niches in the wall surrounding the louver, about 10CM deep.

Stacking the louvers above the aperture, to make them invisible from inside when stacked, requires a slightly higher niche for the system.













Parma offers a special connecting profile that enables connecting two shutters. This allows joining shutters to cover very wide openings.





The Parma shutter’s drive system works on 24V DC. This power supply requires an AC connection near the head profile.

Should a client choose to place a single wall mounted command panel near the shutter, installation of the wiring from the head profile to the control panel location is desired.

Alternatively, if a master control unit for a room is preferred; pre-wiring all shutters from their head profile to the master panel location is recommended.

When a central control panel is requested, it is better to wire all single or master control units to the location of the central unit.

Note: It is possible to avoid wiring units by using wireless communication links between all components of the system.
